Mel Mandel, 86, plays on CJ”s on the Bay, which won a championship in 2011. John Prushko, 82, proudly wears the Rookies jersey.

Both enjoy the camaraderie they have experienced in the league. Mel got hooked on softball when only 10. He likes being active and being outdoors, which softball fulfills. His wife can be seen in the bleachers cheering on Mel and his team. They reside in Dobbs, N.J. in the summer time.

John played many sports in his younger days, favoring football. He started playing softball when he came to Marco Island. Second base is where he roams. He arrives to games on his little red scooter, with his favorite fan, and wife, Shirley. His hobbies include woodworking, gardening, guns and hunting.
